MBA Program Overview

The University of Scranton’s online MBA provides convenience, flexibility, AACSB accreditation, and a relevant curriculum taught by our world-class faculty. Flex-MBA Option: Choose from Eight Specializations

The Flexible MBA* option with The University of Scranton allows you to cater your degree to what you want to learn. For the same amount of credit hours, you may choose from up to two of nine specializations or up to six advanced elective courses in your preferred area of study — tailoring your MBA to your career goals.

Specializations Available

  • Accounting: Explore a curriculum that combines the broad, ethical, and sustainable business foundations of our MBA degree with the ability to leverage accounting-based insights as a means of solving business problems.
  • Business Analytics: Harness data from your organization's enterprise systems and transactions, machines and sensors, and social media and internet presence to extract better insights that solve business problems.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning: Offered in conjunction with SAP — the world's largest ERP software company — our program will prepare you to become more proficient in the configuration and use of ERP software and apply your knowledge of ERP systems to any software environment or industry.
  • Finance: Gain advanced knowledge needed to lead the financial arm of your business. Learn how to succeed in a wide variety of financial careers by understanding how each functional area of business works together to deliver maximum organizational performance.
  • Healthcare Management: Learn the ins-and-outs of supervising healthcare facilities, planning and directing healthcare operations, and managing teams of healthcare staff members.
  • Human Resources: Excel with a specialization that consists of nine credit hours and allows you to select three online HR degree courses within the MS in Human Resources SHRM-aligned curriculum.
  • International Business: Prepare to expand to foreign markets and manage cross-cultural teams by studying the financial, economic and political aspects of the global marketplace as well as organizational behavior and cultural differences.
  • Operations Management: Focus on efficient coordination, production and distribution of goods and services with our comprehensive program that can give you a competitive advantage in the ever-changing job market.
  • General MBA: Bring your expertise to the next level with a leadership core and choose from a variety of elective courses to build a specialization that fits your specific career goals.

*The online MBA offers a Flex curriculum that also requires 36 credit hours (exclusive of any foundation modules that are stipulated on your Letter of Acceptance).

Our standard MBA features cornerstone and capstone courses, 7 core courses, and 3 advanced electives. Our flexible MBA lets you trade 3 of the 7 core courses for other advanced electives, allowing you to tailor the MBA curriculum to your needs and interests while still gaining an in-depth understanding of core business functions.

Note the MBA degree requires 36 credit hours regardless of whether you choose the standard MBA or the flexible option.
