Designed for active, full-time accounting professionals, the MAcc online program integrates core competencies with competitive tools in coursework that can be completed in less than one year. Students with a non-accounting bachelor’s degree are encouraged to apply for the online MAcc program through the Accounting Bridge* option. The MACC Bridge option at The University of Scranton offers the necessary prerequisite courses online to provide the foundation in accounting needed to be successful in the master’s program.
With a focus on accounting analytics, you’ll be prepared to provide the business intelligence needed to inform strategic direction through analysis, evaluation, and visualization. At a time when organizations have revolutionary access to raw data, the skills needed to create useful business metrics are valuable. In addition to the four core MAcc foundation courses, you’ll add two required courses, Introduction to Business Analytics and Data Mining, plus three elective analytics courses, for a total of 30 credit hours.
With a focus on forensic accounting, you’ll learn advanced skills needed to investigate and audit financial fraud, and communicate your findings anywhere from the boardroom to the courtroom. Your skills will also equip you to provide expert consultation on topics such as accounting compliance and risk management. In addition to the four core MAcc foundation courses, you’ll take courses in Financial Reporting and Research, Advanced Auditing, Financial Reporting Fraud, Occupational Fraud and Abuse, and Introduction to Business Analytics, for a total of 30 credit hours.
